Simon Pagenaud will drive the No. 22 Team Penske Dallara/Chevrolet IndyCar in Penske Truck Rental colors for four races in the Verizon IndyCar Series this season, including opening weekend in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Sunday’s race will be telecast by ABC and the rest can be seen on the NBC Sports Network:
- March 29: Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg
- April 12: Indy Grand Prix of Louisiana
- April 19: Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach
- April 26: Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama
Pagenaud, 30, is in his first season with Team Penske and is part of a four-car lineup (a first in program history) that includes defending champion Will Power, Helio Castroneves and Juan Pablo Montoya. The France native placed in the series top five in 2012, 2013 and 2014.
He is poised for a breakthrough in 2015. According to this Team Penske infographic, Pagenaud in 69 IndyCar starts has four wins and over two dozen top-five finishes.
Pagenaud told the Tampa Bay Times this week: “the biggest moment of my career is definitely getting the contract with Team Penske. It’s something I have been dreaming about since I was a child.”
