The companies have come together to launch a battery electric Freightliner eCascadia into the Black Horse Carriers regular operation. Bill Combs, vice president of connected vehicle strategy and experimentation at Penske Transportation Solutions, will speak at the Autonomous Vehicles Silicon Valley Conference (AVSV) February 26-28 at the Pullman San Francisco Bay.

It's the 10th Autonomous Vehicles conference, and to mark the occasion, AVSV has engaged more than 65 speakers on site, over 10 hours of networking, and 50 dedicated content sessions.

Combs will present at two of those sessions:

  • "Deploying Autonomous Trucking in Urban Spaces: First Steps, Planning and Preparedness in Ensuring Success," Thursday, February 27 at 8:30 a.m.
  • "Fleet Planning to Incorporate AVS," Thursday, February 27 at 12 p.m.

In 2019, Penske announced that it was the first company of its kind to join the Partners for Automated Vehicle Education (PAVE) coalition. The effort aligned with Penske's mobility strategies around connected, automated, shared, and electric commercial vehicles.
