Penske Logistics has been again named to the 2017 Top 3PL & Cold Storage Providers list by Food Logistics magazine. The annual award serves as a resource guide of third-party logistics and cold storage providers whose products and services are critical for companies in the global food and beverage supply chain. Penske Logistics currently manages more than 21 million square feet of warehousing space as well as an extensive refrigerated dedicated contract carriage fleet for its diverse base of customers that include leading food and beverage companies such as grocers, convenience stores, and quick-service restaurants.

Penske and Western Star Trucks donated use of a truck to transport Sundancer -- a solar car run by a team of U.S. high school students -- for a race in Australia.
Some businesses will go the extra mile to provide good service. Penske Truck Rental Australia recently went an extra 4,300 miles for a team of U.S. high school students participating in a solar-powered vehicle trek across the Outback. But since this is Australia, perhaps it would be better to say Penske went an extra 6,900 kilometres.

Prepare Now for Food Safety Modernization Act Deadlines
The Food and Drug Administration's (FDA)Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) will affect the entire supply chain, bringing sweeping changes to everyone from growers to warehouse operators and motor carriers. The FDA is required to begin issuing its final rules related to the act in August, with each requirement taking effect one year from its publication.
