According to the ATA, professional drivers across America drive 421 billion miles each year, delivering roughly 70 percent of the U.S. freight tonnage or over 9.7 tons. Eighty percent of U.S. communities depend solely on the trucking industry.

More than 40 diversity and inclusion practitioners recently attended the first Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Symposium at Penske’s headquarters in Green Hills, Pennsylvania, to network and explore issues of diversity and inclusion that impact their businesses. The event was hosted by 
Keynote speaker Richard Simons, president, Daimler Trucks Remarketing Corporation, and chief diversity officer (on the left in the picture with Ken Hurley, Penske's senior vice president of human resources), shared his cornerstones to D&I success and how companies gain value from organized programs.
Penske Truck Rental’s operation in Australia will initially consist of a 20-truck fleet of high-specification MAN and Western Star prime movers. Each unit will be professionally maintained to maximize reliability, fuel efficiency and availability.

The 114-door facility has 93,850 square feet of loading-dock space and 7,320 square feet of office space. When operating at full capacity, the site is expected to process millions of pounds of freight on a weekly basis to support Ford’s assembly, powertrain, stamping, service parts, and reverse logistics operations.
