Each business day, Fastenal trucks fuel up before heading out to deliver industrial and construction supplies to surrounding branches and customer locations. For one recent addition to the Fastenal fleet, there's a new twist to this daily ritual: Instead of fueling up for its delivery route, this particular truck is charging up.
Over the last 12 plus months, Penske Truck Leasing marked some key milestones related to bringing commercial electric trucks to market and testing these vehicles in real-world applications with customers and within our subsidiary's fleet at Penske Logistics. Here are a few of the highlights:
Penske Logistics today announced that it has successfully logged more than 10,000 over-the-road miles making multiple, daily store deliveries on dedicated routes in Southern California for a leading quick service restaurant chain using two, electric Freightliner Innovation Fleet eCascadias. The company believes it is the first truck fleet operator in the United States to achieve such a feat.
Penske Truck Leasing will highlight its place as an emerging technology leader at this year’s Advanced Clean Transportation Expo in Long Beach, California. ACT Expo will be April 23-26 at the Long Beach Convention Center. In addition to Penske’s electric vehicle fleet being on display – the Freightliner eM2 and FUSO eCanter – there will be several company leaders appearing on panels. Penske will be an exhibitor and is a Presenting Sponsor.
