How Does Penske Give Back to the Community?

With a helping hand, on and off the job.

Using Our Strengths to Help Our Communities

When disasters strike Penske trucks and its people are often right there behind the scenes working hand-in-hand with major relief agencies to help transport emergency relief and supplies. We're also often supporting our customers and local non-profit groups with rental vehicles to further supplement grassroots efforts to help transport donated items to our neighbors and communities when they need them most.

We've helped major charities and relief organizations related to the southern tornadoes, floods, Red Cross fundraising for Japan's earthquake relief, and many others. In years past, we've offered our strengths in transportation and logistics to support our communities, the donation of $1 million of rental trucks to the Clinton-Bush Haiti Fund, to assist with the U.N.'s humanitarian relief efforts.

Along similar lines, we've worked with many charities over the years, including: Toys for Tots, Habitat for Humanity, Support Military Spouses, World T.E.A.M. Sports (disabled individuals and veterans), National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Juvenile Diabetes, Boys and Girls Clubs, Global Soap Project, Paralyzed Veterans of America, the Red Cross and so many others that are helped locally by our people and locations.

Looking Out for Our Neighbors

We encourage our employees to volunteer and support our communities. We're substantial supporters of the United Way, to which we and our associates contribute hundreds of thousands of dollars annually. We also support our people and the communities where we live and work through various donations and by volunteering our time, effort and resources to local community organizations.

Penske has been given several awards for its strong fundraising campaigns from the local United Way agency that serves the greater Reading, Pennsylvania, area.
