Penske Once Again a Top 100 Military-Friendly Employer

Penske Truck Leasing and Penske Logistics are members of the 2015 Top 100 Military-Friendly Employer list for the fourth straight year by Victory Media, the publisher of G.I. Jobs and Military Spouse magazines.

“Penske proudly hires and employs veterans and active National Guard and Reserve members to work in our operations,” stated Jennifer Sockel, Penske senior vice president of human resources. “We appreciate their service to our country and the values, work ethic and skills they bring to our teams. It is an honor to be recognized by Victory Media for placement on this list.”

Criteria for the survey included a benchmark score across key programs and policies such as the strength of company military recruiting efforts, the percentage of new hires with prior military service, retention programs and company policies on National Guard and Reserve service.

Companies received consideration for this list via a data-driven survey of thousands of companies with resulting survey data independently tested by Ernst & Young LLP based upon the weightings and methodology established by Victory Media.

In 2014 an estimated 13 percent of Penske’s yearly new hires were veterans. The company’s largest number of hires has been in the areas of truck maintenance technicians and supervisors, truck drivers and logistics operations roles. For more information, visit www.GoPenske.com/careers/veterans.

“The 2015 Military-Friendly Employers represent the pre-eminent tier of companies with strong military recruitment programs and meaningful job opportunities for transitioning service members and spouses,” said Sean Collins, Victory Media vice president.
