At the same time, the 2026 Annual Third-Party Logistics Study found that 67% of shippers and 73% of third-party logistics providers now report using artificial intelligence and machine learning at some level, which indicates AI is becoming an operating expectation rather than a differentiator reserved for early adopters.

As shippers and logistics providers expect more information about loads, performance and operations, telematics has become an increasingly necessary tool for fleets of all sizes. By enabling and speeding up the long-distance transmission of computerized data, telematics helps fleets increase visibility through real-time updates, improve communications, optimize operations and manage their fleet more efficiently, thereby increasing profitability.
