Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives
Diversity and inclusion means valuing each associate and recognizing his or her unique contributions to the organization. At Penske, we promote and support diversity and inclusion in our workforce and supplier base through a variety of efforts including:
Diversity and Inclusion Council
Penske has a well-established Diversity and Inclusion Council that meets regularly to discuss, provide feedback on and help guide our organization on diversity-related issues. Diversity and Inclusion Council members consist of our Penske associates from a variety of levels within the organization.
Diversity Recruiting Efforts
We seek and value candidates from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. To ensure we are reaching out to as many people as possible, Penske actively recruits candidates from colleges, universities, trade schools, and military and veterans groups. We maintain a regular recruiting presence with hundreds of schools.
Penske recently established a mentoring program to help enhance developmental opportunities for associates within the organization. The goal of the program is to enhance working relationships, foster professional development, and strengthen diversity and inclusion.
Penske has a growing associate interest in affinity groups. The Penske Women’s Network was the first affinity group established at the company. The group meets regularly at our corporate locations and has begun to expand its membership base.
Penske Truck Leasing and Penske Logistics have been steadily growing and cultivating relationships with minority-owned and women-owned businesses for well over a decade. The effort is a part of our ongoing initiatives to promote diversity and inclusion within our network of suppliers.
Each year on average, Penske Truck Leasing and Penske Logistics spend more than 13 percent of their combined total annual spend with hundreds of minority-owned and women-owned businesses combined. Please review our guidelines and information about supplier diversity.
