Penske privacy notice for internet websites and vehicle remarketing

Penske Truck Leasing Co., L.P. and its subsidiaries ("Penske") understand our customers' concern about privacy and the use of their personal information. Use of any information gathered from or about our customers through the Penske internet websites, Fleet Insight, and Driver Management Portal (the "Sites"), as well as information collected from individuals who contact us offline, shall be governed by the Sites' Terms of Use (https://www.gopenske.com/terms-and-conditions/) and this Privacy Notice. Additional policies may apply to customers who rent, lease, or drive Penske vehicles. Penske encourages you to read this Privacy Notice in full to learn how Penske treats personal information, and we encourage you to check back regularly for any updates.

Information we collect

We collect, use, and share information about individuals in the following ways:

Website Visitors: When you use the Sites, we collect certain information about your device, such as IP address, browser information, and Site usage statistics for analytic purposes in order to improve user experience to better understand how visitors use and navigate our Sites.

Interested Parties and Prospective Customers: When you complete a web form, such as quote request, rental reservation or feedback form on our Sites, we collect your contact information such as name, email address, and phone number and payment information (if you make a rental reservation). We use this information to process rental reservations, monitor user feedback, respond to inquiries, provide you with relevant offers which may be of interest, and with the assistance of service providers perform market analysis and marketing campaigns with this information.

If you express interest in financing for rental truck reservations or used vehicle purchases, we may collect personal identifiers including your name, email address, phone number, and information about vehicles you are interested in. We share this information with financing partners to provide financing opportunities to interested customers.

Agents and Agent Associates: As a Penske Agent or Penske Agent Associate, we collect personal information including your name and business contact information. We use this information to support our business relationship and to perform watch list checks. We share this information with service providers for security and financial purposes.

Commercial Clients: When your company contracts with Penske for truck rental, full service leasing, contract maintenance or logistics services, we collect personal information including your name and business contact information. We use this information for account creation, financial processing, due diligence purposes, and with the assistance of service providers we perform market analysis, marketing campaigns, and distribute client satisfaction surveys.

Customers purchasing Penske vehicles: When you purchase a Penske vehicle as an individual, commercial customer, or vehicle dealer, we collect personal information such as name, email address, phone number, company point of contact information, dealer ID (if you represent a dealership), date of birth, tax ID, driver's license information, insurance details, financial information, physical address, and vehicle identification number (VIN). We use this information for account creation, vehicle sale processing, and asset management purposes. We share certain information with service providers to complete the vehicle sale process.

In addition, we may collect additional personal information including your national ID or passport number, gender, visa permit information, and contact information as required by local Departments of Motor Vehicles or similar government agencies. We use and share this information with government agencies and service providers for vehicle titling, registration and related purposes.

Penske does not sell your personal information to third parties.

Information collected from third parties

We receive additional contact information about you from third parties including customer referrals, service providers, and other third parties. We use this additional information to enhance user account information for marketing purposes.

Links to third-party sites

The Sites contain links to other third-party sites, such as the sites of Penske agents, sales affiliates, marketing partners and other organizations whose products or services may be of interest to you. Penske may share personal information (excluding credit card numbers) with third parties identified during checkout/reservation, but only when you select or choose to visit offers presented during the checkout/reservation process. When you click on any links or banners on our Site that take you to third-party web sites, you will be subject to such third parties' privacy policies and practices. We encourage you to read the posted privacy statement of any site you visit, whether you are linking from one of our Sites or browsing on your own.

Cookies and online marketing

Our Sites use temporary cookies and other tracking methods to enable faster and easier access privileges on the Sites, to enable Site functionality, such as the checkout process, and to track Site usage. A cookie is a small string of text that a website can send to your browser for storage on your device, which allows us to provide you with tailored information and services when you return to the Sites. Penske uses online advertising programs to serve ads on third-party websites. These programs use cookies and other tracking technologies to measure the effectiveness of ads for their clients, and to display relevant ads tailored to you based on your visit to our Sites.

You can opt-out of the use of cookies through your browser's options, however some services on our Sites may not function properly or may be considerably slower if you choose to do so. Security

The security of customer information is very important to us, and we take a number of steps to safeguard it. We maintain physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to protect your personal information. We also use encryption to secure certain personal information where deemed necessary.

Furthermore, once the information has been received by us, we use security procedures and policies commensurate with industry standards to safeguard against loss, theft, unauthorized access, destruction, use, modification and/or disclosure.

Administrative, legal process, and business transfers

In addition to the sharing described above, Penske may disclose information about you if Penske believes that disclosure is necessary (a) to satisfy any law, regulation, or governmental request; (b) to respond to a subpoena; or (c) to protect the safety, rights or property of Penske or users of this Site or any of Penske's websites.

We may also transfer your personal information in connection with any sale or transfer of our business and assets. In such event, Penske will use reasonable efforts to ensure that your personal information remains protected.

Individual rights

Under local data privacy laws, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including:

  • Right to know and request information about the categories and specific pieces of personal information Penske has collected about you, as well as the categories of sources from which the personal information is collected, the purpose for collecting the personal information, and the categories of third parties with whom we share your personal information.
  • Right to request deletion of your personal information Penske has collected. Local data privacy laws allow Penske to retain certain pieces of personal information.
  • Right to opt-out of the sale of personal information. Penske does not sell personal information to third parties.

If you wish to exercise any legal rights you may have under these local data privacy laws or other applicable privacy laws, please do so by visiting our Individual Rights Management portal or contact us using the information in the "Contact us" section below. If you designate an authorized agent to make an individual rights request on your behalf, please contact us using the information in the "Contact us" section below. Identity verification may be required prior to responding to an individual rights request. In order to verify your identity in Penske systems you will need to provide your first and last name, email address, phone number, and state of residence. As long as at least two or three pieces of information provided match those in our systems, your identity will be considered verified. If Penske cannot verify your identity based on the information provided, Penske may request additional information.

Penske is committed to not discriminating against consumers, and will not do so in response to individuals exercising privacy rights under related local data privacy laws.

Children's privacy

Penske does not knowingly collect or use personal information from children under the age of sixteen (16) or allow such children to participate in any services offered on the Sites that require the submission of user information. Should Penske learn that someone under the age of sixteen (16) has provided any personal information to or on any of the Sites, Penske will take steps to remove that information as soon as possible.
