Penske Issues Statement Regarding Kennesaw, Ga. Incident

On the morning of Jan. 13, 2010, Penske Truck Leasing President Brian Hard issued a statement regarding the Jan. 12 incident in Kennesaw, Ga.:

"Good morning.  My name is Brian Hard and I am the President of Penske Truck Leasing, and I’m here with Randy Ryerson, our Director of Corporate Communications.  I would like to make a brief statement about the events that occurred yesterday here at our Kennesaw location.

The Penske family suffered a tragic loss yesterday.  We are here to be with our associates and to hopefully meet with the families of the victims to personally express our condolences and to ensure we are doing everything we can to help them get through this very difficult time.

The suspect, Jesse Warren, is a former Penske associate and is currently in police custody.  Mr. Warren worked for us as a technician from June 2005 through July of last year.  Given the pending police investigation, I am not able to provide any more details of his employment with Penske.

We are all still trying to understand what happened and we are fully cooperating with law enforcement officials.  It is important that we let law enforcement do their job without interference.  On behalf of Penske and all of our associates, I would like to thank the Cobb County Police and the Emergency Responders for everything that they have done and are continuing to do.

Our prayers are with the victims and their families and loved ones.

Thank you."
