Penske Ranks Among InformationWeek's Top 500

READING, Pa., September 26, 2007 - Today, Penske Truck Leasing announced it has once again been recognized for its technological innovations, placing in the top 100 for a third straight year on the prestigious 2007 InformationWeek 500 list. Penske finished 60th overall.

"We are delighted to once again receive recognition for our technological excellence," said Bill Stobbart, Senior Vice President - Information Technology, Penske Truck Leasing. "Our hardworking and talented IT associates across the world share in this award as they support the technology needs of Penske and its customers every day."

This year's ranking was partially based on two applications that resulted in process improvements, costs savings and efficiency upgrades: SMARTQuote™ and Data Fix and Recovery (DFR).

SMARTQuote™ significantly improves the rental process for Penske Truck Rental through better demand measurement and detailed analytics, allowing for quicker pricing and supply decisions. DFR was developed by Penske Logistics and streamlines the process for customer shipment orders submitted electronically.

"We'd like to extend our sincere congratulations to all InformationWeek 500 honorees. These companies represent today's leading technology innovators," said InformationWeek vice president and publisher, John Siefert. "This group has prompted fascinating discussion on some of the most forward looking business technology initiatives to date."

For nearly 20 years, InformationWeek has identified and honored the nation's most innovative users of information technology with its annual listing. The list is unique among corporate rankings because it spotlights the power of innovation in information technology, rather than simply identifying the biggest IT spenders.
