Penske Joins Challenge to Hire 50,000 Veterans and Military Spouses

VetFriendly Challenge logoPenske has teamed up with Veteran Recruiting Services and other leading employers to support the White House Joining Forces Initiative to hire at least 50,000 veterans and military spouses by 2018.

This VetFriendly campaign, led by a leader in virtual career fairs for the military, will feature nationwide virtual career fairs and a military friendly employer index by industry.

“Penske is proud to be one of the founding member partners of the VetFriendly Challenge to bring valuable veterans and military spouses into the workforce and onto our team,” said Ken Hurley, Penske's senior vice president of human resources. “We value the commitment veterans bring to our organization. They share Penske’s same passion for customer service and high ethical standards.”

Penske regularly participates in Veteran Recruiting and other virtual career fairs. Penske also recruits and hires veterans nationwide to fill dozens of technician, vehicle maintenance supervisor/manager, driver, and sales and customer service positions. In 2012, almost 19 percent of Penske new-hires were veterans.

Penske is participating in Veteran Recruiting Virtual Career Fairs on May 10 and May 29. Veterans and military spouses can register today.

Last year, Penske joined the 10,000 Jobs Challenge to hire 10,000 veterans and military spouses by the end of 2013. Penske and dozens of other businesses helped surpass that goal in just 10 months.

Penske is seeking high-performance veterans to join our team. Visit Penske’s military careers page or follow our job posts using Twitter: @GoPenskeCareers. We offer competitive wages and a wide range of benefits. Penske is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
