Amy Ilyes, Senior Vice President of Customer Experience

With Penske Since 1995

I started my career with a company that was acquired by Penske in 1995—I was a project manager at the time. We were immediately made to feel like part of the team. At Penske, we really strive to make associates feel like their opinions are valued and appreciated. It's very important to us that we all succeed together. It's the culture of the organization.

What's exciting about my role is the constant learning experience. We work with a wide range of industries, and each customer is unique. Because industries and companies operate differently, you adapt the basic tenets of supply chain design to each customer.

At the Penske headquarters in Green Hills, PA., we just created a Women's Network to encourage personal growth and development among female associates. Traditionally there are not a lot of females in the trucking and logistics industries, especially in my area of expertise—engineering or mathematics. So this is very exciting for all of us. We're looking forward to learning from each other and strengthening our relationships through the Women's Network.

In 1995, eight people were on the engineering team. Today, the team has 105 associates in the United States and 50 abroad. Especially in today's challenging economic environment, it's so wonderful that we're growing and that we're profitable. I feel so fortunate to be a part of such a good company.

Amy is a self-described “avid fitness freak” and a lover of international travel. She brings her passions to her job at Penske, where she regularly works abroad and interacts with people from diverse cultures.
